Queen Victoria – George James Frampton (1906)

Queen Victoria – George James Frampton

Unveiled by King Edward VII at the opening of the RVI. The statue portrays the young Queen standing in robes with orb, sceptre and crown. The statue and pedestal are 22 feet in height and is unusual  unusual in showing the queen in a standing position and in a white colour. A seated Queen in black was more the norm, as in the statue of Victoria outside St Nicholas’s Cathedral.
